Let's Sparkle for the 4th!

Most of us will be out and about enjoying the celebrations that surround July 4th. And even though we won't be taking a lot of time in front of the mirror, there's really no reason we can't sparkle as if we did.

This week, you can prepare for those sometimes long hours in the sun, at a fraction of the normal cost. This week was made with you in mind!

If you have never been to Elements Salon, now is the time! Any newbie that comes for any service this week (by appointment), will receive 20% off their total service. Prepare your hair for the heat by getting the spit ends cut off and protect your color investment dollars by coming by for a gloss to seal the cuticle and keep your color in tact...or a deep conditioning mask that fills in all the porosity of the chemically treated hair, protecting its integrity. Or, if you've got plans for an after affair party, a tweaking of those highlights would be great! Or maybe it's time for a change in style....whatever you need to look great for this loud and sparkling holiday, don't let this week fly past without scheduling an appointment.

And for my loyal clients, when you stretch yourself and purposefully send me someone that has never been here before now, you will receive a $20 credit (that's DOUBLE the normal amount) to be applied to your file once the new client has had his/her visit. Isn't that exciting? And, even though these credits can't be stockpiled until you receive free services, for every new client you send my way, you'll still receive $20 toward each consecutive visit, until all credits have been used. Good deal, right? Sadly, this deal expires on July 4th. So, get busy!

Can't wait to see everyone! Happy 4th of July!

Elements Salon is Moving!

In just a few weeks, I will be moving the business of Elements Salon, to a new location.

Having been located in Apex for the last 31 months (that's 2 years and 7 months), while living in Cary, I have made the decision to make Cary the home of Elements Salon as well. It's a good decision.

The new location will be at Waverly Place just up from Whole Foods and too close to GiGi's Cupcakes *big smile*. I'll have to keep my eye on those two. One is all about healthy eating...the other, not so much.

Events are always abounding in this location, with live music every Wednesday evening from various groups that entertain the community, and a Farmers Market on the Promanade every Saturday, April 25th through October 31st. This translates into a hub of activity. I'm very excited to have the opportunity to be a part of this great city that builds community awareness while helping those in business and those needing business.

Beginning on June 2nd (my birthday...shhhh), 2015, Elements Salon will have a new address, located at My Salon Suite, 316 Colonades Way, Suite 307, Cary, NC 27518. The phone number will stay the same, for now. 918.533.7874.

Check out Waverly Place by clicking this link.  www.waverlycary.com

I'm so excited to begin this new leg of the journey that God has brought me to. I hope you will be too!

See you soon!

Hair Cut Loyalty Reward Card

Recently I switched up the Loyalty Dollars Promotion and it left too many of my very loyal clients out of the loop.

So...I've decided to show my appreciation to those who continue to inspire me.

By the second week of April, the new Hair Cut Loyalty Reward Card should arrive and be ready to hand out.

See all those little square spaces? There's only 10, actually, and here's those pesky rules:

  • With each hair cut service, you will receive a smiley face stamp on one square.
  • When all 10 are smiling back at me, you have a complimentary shampoo, cut, and style coming your way with your next visit.
  • These sweet cards cannot be shared with other family members, friends, neighbors, or anyone off the street. Each person must have their own card.
  • The Hair Cut Loyalty Reward Card cannot be combined with other promotional offers..such as the Loyalty Dollars Promotion, where you receive $20 off $200 spent on any given visit.
  • You must bring your card with you to each visit to get the Smiley Face. The best way to avoid missing a stamp is to keep the card in your wallet at all times.

Let me know what you think, in the comment section below.

Routine Advice for That Skin You Live In

Most of us like to stay with our "tried and true" skin care products. I'm one of those people. However, when we consider the natural changes in life, we should also consider the fact of aging skin issues.

Think of it this way. As our vision changes with age, so does the strength of our contact lens or eyeglass prescription. Because the skin produces less natural oil as we get older, our skin needs also change. There's also the climate changes when one moves to a different region. Or if the need for medicines change, many times our skin is affected. If we don't address these changes with effective products, our skin will begin to look lackluster and dull.

What to do? Try a cleanser and moisturizer designed for dry skin. I know, I know! Why put out big bucks for something you aren't sure will work on your particular situation. I'm going to help you with that! Aren't you excited?

Look for products infused with moisture-attracting ingredients like hyaluronic acid, glycerin, shea butter, ceramides, and dimethicone. Skip the oil-stripping astringents and toners, which are suited for oily and combination complexions. Want an even bigger boost? Faithfully apply a rich cream to your face at night after cleansing. You'll wake up with a smoother, baby-soft complexion.

Warning: Most wrinkles come from too much sun exposure, pared with lack of hydration…that's water, ladies and gents! True, we all need the Vitamin D the sun provides. However, research has shown that 10-15 minutes a day is PLENTY. Never to be absorbed between the hours of 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. That is when the sun and the UV rays are at their most dangerous position. Sun lovers skin will age more quickly than those who protect their skin (with sun-block, hats, etc.) while outside during the summers months. Not that wrinkles are bad, per say. They won't kill you. It's just a memo to tuck under your hat while sunbathing. I had a friend that loved her wrinkles. They did look good on her. She was one that laughed much, loved hard, and lived in peace. So her wrinkles accented her loving personality. Yes…she did wear moisturizers to make her skin radiant, while living her life in the sun. Wrinkles and all. I miss my Jani.

Memo: You can stay with your loved product line, if it caters to different skin types. One size does not fit all, in this situation. This is where a good esthetician's advice comes in handy, instead of trying to make sense of all those ingredients.
