Here's a few Frequently Asked Questions:

Q. What is CBD?

A. CBD (Cannabidiol) is one of the 150+ naturally occurring Phytocannabinoids found in certain strains of hemp and in all cannabis plant strains. It is legal in many places and is used in the management and treatment of chronic pain.

Q. Will CBD Daily get me high?

A. Absolutely not. All our CBD Daily products contain 0% THC.

Q. Is CBD Daily illegal?

A. No, CBD Daily is drug-free and can be sold everywhere legally. However, there are some states and countries that have certain restrictions.

Q. What's the difference between Medical CBDs and Hemp CBDs?

A. Medical marijuana CBDs contain THC and are often ingested to get the full effect of the CBD-THC blend.

Hemp CBDs do not contain any THC and are used topically.

Q. Will I fail a drug test?

A. Not from CBD Daily, at least.

Q. What is the difference between the cream and the serum?

CBD Serum.png

A. The serum has a higher concentration of CBD content per volume. However, the cream also has the benefit of being a wonderful, easy-to-apply moisturizer, making it a slightly better seller. The cream is great to use on hands, arms, and legs, while the serum is more popular to use on feet and face. Combined, you have two great applications from head to toe.

Q. What is the dosage?

A. This depends on the product and is measured by CBD grams per container volume. For the highest concentration, the Serum and Rollerball serve a larger amount of CBD in a smaller size. Yet each CBD Daily product contains a competitive amount of CBD and provides multiple benefits beyond dosage.

Most people will feel immediate relief within one minute of application. However, there's about 10% of people with higher tolerance that we suggest "layering" if they don't feel relief with one application. This means applying again in five minutes and, if necessary, one more time five minutes later. You can compare it to taking two aspirins instead of one.

Q. What are the different uses per item type (i.e. Will the cream work better on one spot over another)?

A. Both products are great for spot relief, but how and where you decide to use it can depend on intensity of situation, circumstances, and personal preference. Take a look at the dosages (above) to help decide the right product for you.

I really expect to sell out of this, so, if you try to order...rest assured, it will be back in stock very soon!

The Egyptian Method of Hand Reflexology

Elements Reflexology - Hand.jpg

As promised, here is a little more information about the recent service that has been added to Elements Salon.

HISTORY OF REFLEXOLOGY:

The history of reflexology goes way back to the records left by the Egyptians in the "Physicians Tomb" from the early 6th dynasty (about 2,330 B.C.). Pictures depicting the massaging of the hands and feet had hieroglyphics which translated to "Don't hurt me" and the reply, "I shall act so you praise me".

Asian cultures, as well, have used acupressure or Shiatsu, and acupuncture which uses needles instead of massage. Most cultures have some type of relaxation techniques using the hands or feet.

Dr. William H. Fitzgerald is usually referred to as the pioneer of Reflexology which he called Zone Therapy in his 1917 book, Zone Therapy, or Relieving Pain at Home. Since that time, several others (including doctors), have expanded and helped make popular Reflexology.

A LITTLE INSIGHT:

A little stress is required to maintain certain biological organisms; however, too much can cause pathological changes in the body. Reflexology relieves stress and tension, improves blood circulation and helps unblock nerve impulses to achieve homeostasis.

In layman's terms, there were these guys, in the early 1900's (one a Physiology teacher at Harvard), that came up with the term "homeostasis", meaning "like standing". The term was used to mean the self-regulation of such internal physiologic processes as body temperature, blood pressure, water balance, blood sugar concentration, and levels of oxygen and carbon dioxide in the blood. Cannon's interest (the teacher), was in health rather than disease.

It was his counterpart, Selye and his theory of stress, along with Cannon's view of homeostasis, and one other guy, Claude Bernard, who laid the foundation of the modern concept of disease causation that gave the basis for the belief that STRESS CAN CAUSE DISEASE.

HOW REFLEXOLOGY WORKS:

There are soooo many nerve endings in our extremities. It's been claimed that there are over 7000 in the feet alone. I have no idea how many are in the hands; less, most likely. Any stimulation of these nerve endings sends signals along the spinal cord, and up to the thalamus gland in the brain, which produces its own opiate-like painkillers called endorphins. Reflexology stimulates the body's own pain killing system. How awesome is that?!

WHAT YOU CAN COMPARE IT TO:

Reflexology is similar to Acupressure, Shiatsu, and Acupuncture. Whether it's a pressure point or a needle point, it is the nervous system's reaction to this stimuli that begins the process of releasing painkillers from the brain into the bloodstream to be distributed throughout the body.

COST:

As an introduction to this amazing service, during the month of August, Elements Salon is offering this service free of charge. Reflexology will only be offered as an add-on to an existing service, not as a stand-alone service. The service will need to be scheduled in order to give ample time to administer the reflexology.

Beginning in September, it will only add another $15 onto your service bill when scheduling as an add-on to an existing service.

Such a relaxing way to end your day! Or begin your day!

See you soon!

Messy Ponytails

It's the worst of times and the best of times. The worst, because there seems to be no time for much of anything, but work, cook, eat, sleep. The best of times, because everyone is in the same boat, and no-one truly cares what we look like. Except maybe the client that sits in our chair...

Back in the day, 30 some odd years ago, rarely did you see a woman out and about without first making sure every hair was in place. It's a bit different in this world's time frame, than it was back then. Messy is in! "Fixed", not so much. Acknowledgment: I still love fixed. But I also like messy. Depends who is wearing what. *wink wink

I remember a visit to see our daughters, here in North Carolina, before we had made the move East. We dropped by their workplace to visit with co-workers and let them be introduced to the fabulous parents of the two girls that everyone loved.

Upon leaving, one of our girls told me that a co-worker had said, "Your mom certainly is ALL PUT TOGETHER." I took that as a compliment, but looking back and remembering that day, I'm fairly certain it was just a kind way of saying, "Geez, how long does it take her to fix that hair?"

Today's blog really has no rhyme or reason. Just acknowledgments. You're a busy person with many things that must be accomplished within a 24 hour period. If your hair is at least shoulder length, you can throw it back in a low pony, or messy mid-pony, and look great. If it's below shoulder length, you have a few more options that are just as quick and just as beautiful. And, I'm pretty sure you need no help in knowing what to do. So, I'm not going to belabor it.
