GO WITH GLOSS!
Glossing treatments have polymers that lock the silicone to the hair strands. They are really good for fine hair and won't cause hair to fall flat with weight, like serums do. Glosses have a lot of water-soluble ingredients, so when you rinse the gloss out, it's not as heavy as it would be if you were using a only serums. Once a week, after you shampoo, work a clear gloss, like Scruples Hair Renewal Polish, through your hair from roots to ends.
MAKE YOUR OWN
I love Apple Cider Vinegar, for many reasons. But one of those reasons is that it is an inexpensive beauty product that contains acetic acid, which, thanks to a lower pH, is better than shampoo at removing mineral buildup from hair. Mix the vinegar with your regular conditioner right in the bottle (the ratio is one part vinegar to two parts conditioner) to help it spread evenly through your hair. Or just pour a 1/2 cup of vinegar over your hair, as a last rinse…then rinse with water. If you're not a fan of the smell that might produce, you could always pic up the Scruples products that leave your hair looking, and smelling, awesome!
GIVE UP STARCH
Dry shampoo and texturizing spray coat the hair with shine-sapping powder and polymers, respectively. To get volume without destroying shine, work a mousse specifically described as having no alcohol content, like Scruples Creme Parfait, through your hair while it's damp. Mousse that has alcohol (most do), can often make hair look dry and dull.
STYLE MATTERS
Layers create air space that doesn't allow the light to reflect through it, as a blunt cut does. The Winter season is a great time to create a new look for the hair by possibly going to more of a blunt cut (those with fine, limp hair), so natural shine can pop through.
May your year produce many favorable opportunities! Shine on!!!
